Cantaluppi Tavernerio SpA
At the beginning, it was father Giacinto who, before World War 2, began the distribution of cold cuts and cheeses to shops, restaurants and trattoria of that time.
After a few years, he added the first warehouse in Como beside the famous Fiat 501 which he drove to reach the most distant customers with.
The growth of the Cantaluppi company has been brought forward by the ability to satisfy the requests of shops and restaurants with practical and innovative solutions.
Those were the years of the “Saporina Lariana”, an extract designed and made by the forefather, a precursor of products now available in all the families. A concrete examples of the Cantaluppi’s inventiveness.
After the war, in 1952 the company grew including a new business partner. Everything went on this way until 1968, when the son Valter (actual president of Cantaluppi Tavernerio SpA) took the reins of the company together with his wife and the uncle in Tavernerio. Decades of hard work, personal deliveries to delis, shops and cooperatives and choice of the best suppliers to trust for the purchasing of the raw materials.
After nearly thirty years, Andrea and then Stefano, Valter’s two sons, decide to follow the father in the company management. In 1999 Cantaluppi moves to the new warehouse in Albese con Cassano, Como, and, after a few years, a bridge towards Liguria with the warehouse of Santa Margherita and the acquisition, in 2006, of a company in Chiavari: a clear sign of the never ending energy and desire to do that follows the Cantaluppi family since three generations.
